Introducing. . . . . Beanies!!!

Yes. . . it has been awhile.  I lost my inspiration for a short amount of time, but I think it has returned.  I have been working on some adorable beanies in both newborn and infant sizes.  I am experimenting with adult and kid sizes right now, but nothing has been finished

Free Butterflies!!

The larger grey butterfly has a pink center and green/blue antennae with both a pin and clip on the back.  The smaller butterfly is yellow with a blue center and green antennae. This small one only has a clip on the back.  I have had some really good feedback on my butterflies and so decided to use them for the give-a-way.

Paper Products

Oh how I love these lovely little accessories!!  Each flower is made from antique book pages, sealed so they are nice and sturdy, and finished of with a variety of buttons, feathers, beads, crochet work, etc.  Each one is different and unique!  The smaller flowers have either a alligator clip on the back or a pin, the larger flowers have both the alligator clip and the pin allowing for multiple uses!  The larger flowers also have a crochet backing to them.

Meet "Stella" and "Hank"

Miss Stella, pictured above, was made out of a real sock with buttons for eyes and a crochet bow to accessorize (made her look more feminine).  I recieved the pattern/instructions for this monkey from my buddy Misha, who is actually doing a give-a-way on her blog for a handmade sock monkey, just go HERE!!

Hanky here is almost 100% crochet!  He is grey with yellow on the tips of hands, feet and tail and has two different sized buttons as eyes.

Sui Generis supports Missions in Siguatepeque, Honduras

 Missions has always been a passion of mine and I have lately had such a burden to use my talents in anyway that I can to support missions.  Because of this burden, I have decided to donate 50% of all sales starting March 1, 2011 to support missions globally.  Currently, donated funds are helping to finacially support a church building project in Siguatepeque, Honduras.  I am excited to see what can be done through the donations of Sui Generis!!

Marc and Lori Schreckhise have been living in Siguatepeque,population 43141, since October of 2009 and have conducted services in the front room of their house.  As the church family grows a bigger building is needed.  Currently their congergation is running about 40 people.  They have begun a building project that will initially seat 250 people, which later can be expanded to seat about 400 people.  There are future plans for the site as well!  Sis. Schreckhise states "As of now, we do not have a school. In the future we really want one. We really really need one. Our children need a good school to go to."  They are currently having services on the foundation of the new building with bamboo poles and a tarp as the roof.  Here are some pictures. .

Button Bobbies!

Just started making this adorably bobby pins with several different colors and sizes of buttons attached onto each other.  I thought they were so cute that I had to end up keeping some for myself :-)

Coming soon. . . Crochet "Sock" Monkey

So. . . I was visiting the blog of my good buddy, Misha, and she gave me an inspiration!  She has started making her own sock monkeys out of real socks and they are super cute!!  I want to make one as well. . . but it also gave me and idea. . . a CROCHET sock monkey!  I looked around and found a pattern and have begun the journey :-)  Hopefully I will be able to post a picture of the lil'guy within the next couple weeks!

Pom-Pom Accessories ~ Now Available

Hey all!!  I have started making a variety of pom-pom ball hair accessories. . . here are a few pics as an example. Green Machine

I made this flouncy flower out of a base of kelly green, followed by cream and the center has three felt circles of cream and two different colors of green, each with a different bead or button in the center.

A Shade of Blue

This line of goods (medium sized flower pins and small hair barrettes) were made from a silky, thin yarn to produce a delicate texture and look.  I used a variety of items for the middles of the flowers, such as buttons, sea shells, etc.  I really love how these creations turned out! (the photo shoot was a lot of fun as well!)

Circles and Buttons Scarf

Love this scarf!!  Seriously thought about keeping it :-)  It is a kelly green scarf, short style  . . . almost like a neck warmer.  The ends have hand stitched cream yarn and it is fastened by two buttons, a brown leather button and a creamish colored button.  There are several circles made out of pink and cream yarn stitched into the scarf.

Lots'O Fun Toddler Headband

This fun headband is made from a kelly green base yarn and has blue, pink and yellow buttons atop a white pom pom, atop a green felt circle, atop a multicolored ruffle circle. . . fun fun!!

Infant Headband ~ 0-6 months

A pink headband base with grey and light blue flowers and a bright yellow button in the middle!!  Also has a small green leaf off to one side.

Frilly Scarf

This scarf was made out a camo-ish yarn (variety of greens) and completed with a pink (looks red in pic, I know) ruffle around the end of the scarf, by the neck, and three ruffles at the base of the scarf.  There is a longer pink ruffle, followed by a little shorter cream ruffle and an even shorter pink ruffle.  The button is awesome!  It is a retro, rather large, pearlescent button. 

Happy Birthday Misha!

This double yarn, double flower was made for my good friend Misha for her 30th birthday!  It was made from a cream yarn and a variety of buttons, bells and wooden balls in the center.
